Who can benefit from our left foot accelerator pedals?
For drivers unable to operate the accelerator pedal with their right foot, an additional accelerator pedal can be fitted to the left of the brake pedal to allow operation with their left foot.
This is particularly beneficial for those with a right leg or foot amputation, or arthritis.
How left side accelerator pedals work
There are several types of left foot pedal accelerators including a twin flip left foot accelerator, floor mounted left foot accelerator and cross over left foot accelerator. They all transfer acceleration from the right pedal to a left pedal, but offer a slightly different function and safety prevention mechanism.
The twin flip left foot accelerator retains the use of the right pedal and allows the driver to easily select their preferred pedal. It folds the unused pedal safely up and out of the way.
A floor mount left foot accelerator provides a pedal guard to prevent accidental operation of the original accelerator. This can be quickly detached to return control to the original right pedal.
Our cross over left foot accelerator provides an identical left-foot pedal that can be electronically selected. Function can be quickly returned to the right pedal for right foot drivers.
