Professional vehicle adaptations, such as push/pull controls, radial controls and accelerator rings, are recognised solutions that help drivers maintain their independence on the road.

Mobility in Motion offers a wide range of professionally fitted hand controls designed to work with many automatic vehicles, helping drivers remain safe, comfortable and confident behind the wheel.

How much does it cost to put hand controls in a car in the UK?

The cost of fitting hand controls to a car in the UK depends on the type of adaptation required and any additional features you choose. Basic mechanical hand controls, such as our Brig-Ayd Push/Pull systems, typically start from around £695 including professional installation and a 3-year warranty.

More advanced systems, such as premium floor-mounted hand controls or hand controls with integrated secondary functions for indicators, lights and wipers, can cost from £1,080 or more, depending on the specification.

The final price will vary based on your vehicle, driving requirements and any additional adaptations needed. A professional assessment can help identify the most suitable hand control solution and provide an accurate quotation tailored to your needs.

Can I install hand controls myself?

No. Hand controls should not be installed by the user.

To ensure safe and reliable operation, hand controls must always be installed by a qualified vehicle adaptations specialist. These systems are directly linked to critical vehicle functions such as acceleration and braking, so correct installation, calibration and testing are essential for safety.

Professional installation ensures the controls are properly fitted to your specific vehicle, adjusted to your driving position, and fully tested before use. It also ensures compliance with safety standards and gives you the confidence that the system will perform reliably in everyday driving conditions.
