Joey Lift FAQ’s

What is a Joey lift?

The Joey Lift is a fully powered platform lift designed to load and store a mobility scooter, wheelchair or powerchair inside your vehicle. Rather than manually lifting or manoeuvring a heavy mobility device into the boot, you simply drive onto the platform and use the remote control to safely raise and stow it inside the vehicle.

Because the Joey Lift stores the mobility device inside the car, it also helps protect it from the weather while travelling. It’s a popular solution for people looking for a simple, independent way to transport larger mobility devices with minimal physical effort.

What vehicles work with a Joey lift?

The Joey Lift is typically fitted into van-derived vehicles and larger MPVs that offer the interior height and boot space needed. Popular compatible vehicles often include models such as the Citroën Berlingo, Ford Tourneo Connect, Vauxhall Combo Life and similar high-roof vehicles.

Vehicle suitability depends on the size and weight of the mobility device, as well as the available interior space once the lift is installed. The Joey Lift is designed to maximise practicality while still allowing everyday use of the vehicle wherever possible. Mobility in Motion can assess your vehicle and recommend the most suitable setup for your individual needs.

How much does it cost to install a scooter lift?

The cost of installing a scooter lift can vary depending on the type of lift, the vehicle and the size of the mobility device being transported. The Joey Lift has a retail price starting from £4,095, which includes professional installation and a 3-year warranty for added peace of mind.

More compact options such as boot hoists, cost less. A professional assessment from Mobility in Motion helps ensure the lift is suitable for both your vehicle and mobility equipment, providing safe and reliable everyday use.

How much does a disability lift cost?

The Joey Lift starts from £4,095 including professional installation and a 3-year warranty. Designed to safely lift and store mobility scooters and powerchairs inside the vehicle, it offers a fully powered solution that helps make transporting larger mobility devices simpler and more independent.
